Meet Gayle

For Gayle, success is not just the title on her business card.

She moved across the country to care for her aging parents. To have more flexibility and still do the work she loves, she now freelances. Baking is her form of meditation although she doesn't find as much time for it as she'd like!

Frequently asked questions

What is a "well-rounded life"?

A well-rounded life consists of three key areas: work, self-care, and care for others.
Think of it as a three-legged stool. Each leg is essential, and if one is missing or unstable, the whole thing topples over (hence that snazzy virtual Roundy award that is a three-legged stool 😉)

What do award recipients receive?

Recipients get recognition for their well-rounded lives, including:

  • A virtual Roundy celebrating their awesomeness
  • Public recognition in the Rule Breaker newsletter and on LinkedIn
  • The opportunity to have their story featured in the newsletter and other publications

As well, we will be sharing real stories and practical insights on well-rounded lives to balance all those "hustle culture" success stories out there (i.e., "wake up at 4am and meditate in your private sauna" will not be a suggestion for self-care you'll hear from us)

Why create an award anyone can receive?

Public recognition is a powerful motivator that shapes our decisions and actions. Current awards focus only on professional success, ignoring the importance of self-care and care for others for healthy individuals and society. The Roundy fills that gap by celebrating well-rounded lives.

What is Rule Breaker?

Rule Breaker is a newsletter that challenges conventional thinking in business and society. A post in this newsletter about how we should celebrate well-rounded lives, not just professional excellence, was the inspiration for The Roundy.
